skipped flag raising and went to orch room at 7.15 for warm up... then tay and ting were so proud of us, announced that we'll go sakae for lunch treat luh. Then on the bus I was styling my hair and listening to dicky and his jokes and lying on jared's lap. had a short time at trcc to reh before perf and we felt were so irritated cos of the staff. it was one of our best performances even though the first bow lagged. I was very proud of the performance luh [: went back to school for nwsp preliminary judging instead of going sakae with the rest D: and rushed back to trcc after that. went i went in the hall they were already announcing ST 10 already which means i missed hc's results. Then I asked terre and he said "walao silver only" then i was damn shocked luh. along with the rest who became super depressed.
After that the feedback session was -.- i could understand what the judges were saying. i think they made some sense luh but they appeared rather hypocritical when they said they were pleased with the performance and yet the results were so disappointing. and most of the schools made improvements yet the results did not reflect that. the judges reply gave me the impression that they were trying to pick on an area which most schools had 'problems' in so that they can justify a large-scale downgrade of marks.
went outside trcc to discuss and console each other after that. then z came along with his stylish sunglasses (i think armani) then he came over and told us to surround the judges who were leaving and spam them with qns, he said that was our last chance so most ppl acutally did luh. omg z so smart huh!
then later i talked to the CCAB guy and asked him about the criteria which was not clearly explained and we were heavily penalised cos of "tone production' which emcompassed the rest of the 10 other criterias. and z came and stood beside me luh. o.0 i still rmb the time he shouted at viola 3s during dec concert D: and now hes actually adding on to what i'm saying -.- and hes like the epitome of male fashion... he was wearing a mont blanc belt, hugo boss shirt, panerai watch and his sunglassess in his right hand. omg. and i was observing that when he was standing beside me. :D omg so fashionable. hawt!
anw syf is over and we gave it our best so no regrets :D The perspective of a few individuals on that particular time in the particular day does not reflect the standard of our orchestra and the spirit of music making we share. [: i think we're all champions regardless of schools because we have fufilled the expectations we set out to achieve in our hearts. i hope future batches will remember syf'09 and make sure this won't repeat again. theres no point complaining about how we have been unfairly judged since we can't change anything. what i'm disappointed with is not how we have performed but rather how others judge us based on what we have gotten. but i won't be affected by how others view us.
